Maui County officials say H.A. Baldwin Park remains closed to the public on Monday due to flooding from last week's storm.

The park had been closed since Friday.  Heavy rain began on Thursday and continued over the weekend, leaving the gravel parking lot, restrooms and pavilion areas a muddy mess.

Work crews were able to begin removing mud and cleaning the park on Monday because of the clear weather.  A date to reopen the park will depend on weather conditions later this week.
