Fisherman, 51, suffers head injury from fall on boat

Boat was found in waters outside Kapalua Bay

LAHAINA, Hawaii -

Maui County paramedics say a 51-year-old man fell from the tuna tower of his boat on Tuesday and was transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center in serious condition.

The injury was reported just before 11 a.m. on a boat in waters outside Kapalua Bay.

The Coast Guard was dispatched to assist with the case.  Crews found the local man on the boat's deck after apparently falling on a mounted "fighting chair."

The Coast Guard  initiated first aid and transported the man from his chartered fishing vessel to Lahaina Harbor were paramedic assumed care.
