A fire that broke out in a property across from the old Kekaha Sugar Mill Monday night caused roughly $300,000 in damage, according to the Kauai Fire Department.
No injuries were reported.
Rescue 3 personnel along with firefighters from the Waimea, Hanapepe and Lihue stations worked together to contain the blaze along Kekaha Road that was reported at 11:07 p.m.
Police officers from the Waimea station also responded to the scene.
The fire was extinguished within a half an hour but caused significant damage to two Matson containers, a vehicle and a number of miscellaneous items surrounding the area.
Inspectors continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
