Fire crews respond to blown roof on Molokai

 UPDATED 3:05 PM HST Feb 19, 2013
KALAMAULA, Hawaii -

Maui County fire officials say a 20-foot-by-20-foot section of a roof from a Molokai home was found blown off Tuesday.

The alarm came in at around 11:19 a.m. in the area of Kapuaiwa Grove, or Coconut Grove, in Kalamaula.

Kaunakakai fire crews responded and found the roof, which was a 400-square-foot section of torched down roof consisting of roof paper and asphalt, had blown over the west facing overhang of the home.

Fire crews pulled the roof covering back on the house and secured it back into place as a temporary fix.
