We go back now to KITV-4's Lara Yamada in today's top story. She's live in the newsroom to get us up to speed. Lara? Her name: Brittany Jane Royal. A vibrant, free-spirited, 25 year old. She moved to the Big Island from California less than a year ago. To live in the warmth of the islands -- and follow her heart. Now, her stunned family can't understand how something so horrible could've happened. MOM 144-51 As a mother it's the hardest thing to imagine, losing a child and especially in a way like this. Hearbroken and confused, arriving at the place their daughter loved so much, not long after her final days. MOM 235-40 She was free spirited. She was kind, she had a beautiful heart, and a gorgeous smile. After living in Saint Thomas for a year, her family says Brittany Jane Royal moved to Hawaii to bask in the sun, teach yoga, and build a life on the lava fields. MOM 532-44 She loved the nature and the land and she actually thought that she could form roots here and call it a home. But Tuesday morning, fisherman found her body tangled in their lines... near where the lava enters the ocean in Kalapana. An autopsy soon determined someone strangled Brittany. PHONER JERRY: 3202-09 If you asked if I ever dreamed this would happen I would have said not even in my worst nightmare. Still missing: her boyfriend 22 year old Boaz Johnson. PHONER JANE: 1334-38 What was your impression when you met him? I thought he was nice. An Alaska native, Brittany's grandmother Jane met him for the first time two weeks ago. PHONER JANE: 11:27-34 That's the last time I saw her. I cherish the hugs we had together. A couple for six months, her grandmother says the two had plans to build a dome house on the lava fields. They were supposed to sign papers with a realtor on Monday, but never showed up. PHONER JANE: 2207-11 I just hope they find him and find him fast. It is but one more question for a family finding no peace in paradise. FATHER 20-26 When you've got this much heartache going on, having this much help, and support really means a lot. MOM 652-58 The only reason I'm here is to bring my daughter back home, that's the only reason I'm here I don't care about anything else. Police want to question Johnson -- if they can find him. But they have NOT named anyone a suspect or person of interest. As for Brittany ... her says she was a beautiful person inside and out.... incredibly artistic, smart and determined -- and that's what they hope people will remember about her.
