Family dog stolen
The loss of a family pet is no doubt heartbreaking. But, when it comes almost exactly one year to the day of an attempted kidnapping involving your child, it’s just unthinkably cruel.
That's what one family is dealing with.
An empty crate is what Jay Yano has left to remind him of his missing friend.
"He’s kind of our mascot here at the shop," said Yano.
It's been three days since Macho disappeared.
Yano is convinced someone stole Macho from the Kalihi shop where he works and where everyone in the neighborhood knows him.
"It’s easy for someone to open it and let him out, but he couldn’t do it himself," said Yano of the iron gates that access his t-shirt screening business.
It happened late in the afternoon on Nov. 28 and it must have happened quickly.
"He had to have gone in a car, otherwise someone would have seen him walking around," said Yano.
A cruel coincidence?
