In preparation for the Kaneohe Bay Air Show "Wall of Fire" pyrotechnics display, a rehearsal was conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. and lasting less than five minutes, according to Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
The rehearsal was conducted at Marine Corps Air Station, Kaneohe Bay under controlled conditions with demolitions experts and safety personnel on hand including aircraft rescue and firefighting, military police, airfield safety, and explosive ordnance disposal.
A wall of fire and smoke may have been seen by the runway area during the rehearsal. Additionally, eight simulated artillery explosions may have been heard.
A similar "Wall of Fire" pyrotechnics rehearsal is scheduled again for the morning of Sept. 15.
