Law enforcement has just confirmed escaped murder suspect Teddy Munet is back in custody.
Honolulu police say Munet was re-captured around 7:25 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers located and arrested Munet on Waimanu Street in Kakaako. Public safety officials say he got out of his handcuffs but could not get the belly cuffs off.
Munet ran off Wednesday morning while being transported to Circuit Court in Honolulu, prompting multiple schools to go on lockdown.
The 29-year-old was not wearing leg shackles and had managed to evade law enforcement since 8:05 a.m. despite an extensive manhunt.
Munet was already charged with second-degree murder, firearms and drug-related charges from a homicide last July. He faces an escape charge and an attempted carjacking charge in connection with Wednesday's incidents.
