An electrical problem is forcing the Honolulu district courthouse to close for the day.
The Hawaii State Judiciary says the electrical issue at Kauikeaouli Hale has affected elevator and escalator service and water service above the fourth floor.
The judiciary says court hearings scheduled for Wednesday morning and afternoon have been cancelled and rescheduled.
The Hawaii Supreme Court issued an order extending by one day any Honolulu district court matter with a Jan. 2 filing or hearing due date.
Court officials say the building should reopen to the public on Thursday morning.
