Honolulu police are investigating an assault case that sent a man to the Queen's Medical Center in critical condition.

Emergency medical services said the victim, who is in his 50s or 60s, was apparently assaulted at a bus stop near Dillingham Boulevard and Kalihi Street just before 5 a.m. Sunday.

Witnesses say the suspect fled the scene.
