Ewa Beach man puts pups up for sale
Still looking for that special Christmas gift? An elderly Ewa Beach man may have something for that holiday stocking.
83-year-old Edward Farm adores his posse of pups, but he needs loving homes for his furry bundles of joy
"They're good watch dogs because they go up to the fence and bark," exclaimed Farm.
He's raised them since they were puppies. And because loves them so much, he knows it's best to let them go.
Edward's advancing in age, and it's hard to look after them on his own.
So he put an ad in the paper. His asking price, a measly $25 per pooch.
"If you just give them away some people say AH! They don't care," explained Farm. "But if they pay something, they going to really keep it."
He put 12 up for sale with five of them selling within days.
Farm says his doggies can sense that they are for sale. "When the people come to the gate, HO!, they stay in the back so I gotta say 'okay, which one you want?'" Farm said.
Farm's dogs are anywhere from several weeks old to 4 years-old, ranging from chihuahua to mix breeds.
Pumpkin, Twinkles and Souki are the last 3 left in the adoption bunch. Farm's holding onto his other dogs for now, but there's more.
Edward has cages full of lovebirds up for grabs too.
"I thank the Lord that he gives me a nice good old age," Farm exclaimed, "and I guess there's a time you gotta part with them."
Edward's learning that's much easier said than done. Each goodbye hurts.
"I still think about them already. I feel sorry for them, but I know they gonna be happy."
