EXCLUSIVE: Mililani girl looking for mystery savior
Nicole Antos says woman saved her life at China Walls
A 15-year-old Mililani girl is looking for the woman she says saved her life at China Walls in Hawaii Kai last Thursday.
China Walls is a popular spot because of its beauty. But the cliffs that make this place so attractive, also make it dangerous.
"It's pretty easy to jump in, but getting back out, it's kind of hard and during the summertime there's a lot of big swells," said Honolulu resident David Gunderson.
Despite all the danger at China Walls, many people we spoke with say the thrill is worth the risk.
Nicole Antos took that risk last week and said, "Out of nowhere this huge wave just took me and banged me against the coral wall at least like five times. I thought the wave was trying to kill me."
When the ocean finally calmed down, Antos said she was far from shore and couldn't swim because of torn tendons in her right knee and a fractured elbow.
Antos said, "This lady, she was surfing and she saw me screaming for help and she put me onto her board and she paddled me out to the nearest beach."
Once onshore, Antos said the woman summoned for help and comforted her.
"She was just holding me like her own child and helping me get through the worst 30 minutes of my life and until the paramedics came," said Antos.
That was the last time Antos would see her savior, who she said is named Noa and looked to be in her 40s.
"Thank you Noa for saving my life," Antos said. "I hope to meet you!"
