Alfred Berdon III
A man arrested in the deadly vehicle crash that killed two women in Honokaa was also involved in another incident five years ago that left a man with one eye.
On Sept. 5, 2007, Big Island police said Alfred Berdon III, who was 25 at the time, was driving on Waikoloa Road when another man told him to pull over.
The two men started arguing and Berdon punched the man, who was 23 at the time, shattering his sunglasses and causing critical injuries to his eye, according to police. The victim's eye was later removed.
Berdon was charged with assault.
