Those who gathered at the State Capitol tonight came to honor Royal... And remind the public that she is not a number or statistic... RATHER a sister, daughter, and friend. 4010 - 4022 "WE AS A COMMUNITY DON'T STAND FOR VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN, WE DON'T STAND FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND WE WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND HONOR EACH PERSON WHOSE LIFE WAS LOST AND TO GIVE THE MESSAGE THAT WE NEED THIS TO END." Royal was pregnant at the time of her death. The body of her boyfriend Boaz Johnson was found exactly two weeks ago hanging from a tree in Kalapana. Police say Johnson left behind a written confession, saying he strangled Royal and then threw her in the ocean.
