Police said the Ameron cement truck was backing up into Colburn St. when it drove over a metal plate covering a hole in the road. The truck's wheel caused the metal plate to bend into the hole and ruptured a natural gas line.
No one was injured when the truck tipped over on its side.
Just before 1 p.m., The Gas Company was able to turn off the natural gas.
An attempt to bring the cement truck right-side up failed.
The westbound lanes and one eastbound lane on Dillingham Blvd. opened up just before 5 p.m.
