The federal agent accused of the deadly shooting of Hawaii man has been denied a request to move his case to federal court.
Christopher Deedy was seeking to have the case transferred, but missed the 30-day deadline to file his request.
Deedy is accused of shooting 23-year-old Kollin Elderts last November during a confrontation inside the McDonald's on Kuhio Avenue in Waikiki.
Deedy claims the shooting was self-defense, and he was acting in his capacity as a federal agent.
Trial is set for September.
