The City and County of Honolulu and Maui County says its offices were unable to process motor vehicle and driver's license transactions late Friday due to computer problems.

City officials say technicians diagnosed a hardware problem with the computer system that handles motor vehicle registrations and similar transactions and arranged for delivery of a replacement part Friday night.

Repairs are expected to be complete before the start of business on Monday morning.  The City and County of Honolulu apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks the public for their patience and cooperation.

Maui County officials say the all Department of Motor Vehicle and Licensing offices were unable to process motor vehicle and driver's license transactions due to the Statewide Registration and Motor Vehicle computer system being down at around 2:45 p.m. Friday.

Maui County officials say that repairs were underway and it is expected to be completed over the weekend.
