Critical motorcycle crash sends 2 to hospital

HPD responded to a motor vehicle crash that sent a woman, 27, to the trauma center in critical condition Saturday.

A total of two people were taken to the hospital.  The woman was a passenger on a Harley Davidson.  The driver of the motorcycle was a 21-year-old Honolulu man, who was in serious condition.    

This happened by Pali Highway and South Kukui Street about 5 p.m.  The crash involved a car and motorcycle.

According to police, the driver of the motorcycle apparently lost control of the bike when a car cut in front of them.

The 81-year-old male driver and 84-year-old female passenger in the car were uninjured.

Police said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors, but that the motorcyclist may have been speeding.
