City releases schedule of road repairs
$150m put into budget for repaving
You told KITV4 News where the worst roads on Oahu are. We handed that list to the city and the state.
On Monday, the city released a complete list of road repaving schedules into 2017.
Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell is budgeting $150,000,000 in the budget starting next year for road repairs.
Many of your suggestions for worst roads are now a part of this new list:
- Gale suggested Kuahea Street in Palolo Valley in an email to KITV. The city says repaving is scheduled to start in 2013. Work on Kuahea Street between Helo Place and Kuahea Place is planned sometimes from 2015 through 2017.
- Harold and Robert emailed KITV and said Meheula Parkway between the H-2 Freeway and Kamehameha Highway is bad. Naomi Yim Ikeda, Pat Gramse, Char Kageno and Max N. Calica on Facebook agree. travelmonkey on Instagram gave the same suggestion. The city says work there is scheduled for 2015 through 2017.
- Chris emailed KITV says Houghtailing between North King Street and Bernice Street needs work. The city says that is planned in 2015 through 2017.
- Rand Yamasaki wrote an email, Judd Okayama posted a comment on Facebook, and rollylove posted a comment on Instagram mentioning Bingham Street as one of the worst roads. Work on Bingham Street, between Isenberg Street and Kaialiu Street, is scheduled to start later this year, according to the city.
