Honolulu police say a cashier who was being robbed at a Kalihi store got into a struggle with a robber before the suspect was arrested.

It happened on Tuesday at around 4:45 p.m.

Police say the suspect entered the store and took out a handgun while demanding money from the cashier.

The cashier refused and a struggle ensued between them until a customer intervened.

The suspect ran away and the cashier reported the incident to the police.  The 21-year-old male suspect was located a short distance from the scene and arrested without incident.

The cashier had minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
