Honolulu fire crews responded to a brush fire in Kapolei Tuesday behind the Honolulu Star-Advertiser building.
Firefighters were called just before 10:45 a.m.
The flames were under control just before 12:20 p.m. Crews worked for another several hours putting out hot spots.
About 35 acres of brush were burned, according to fire officials. Two utility poles owned by the Hawaiian Electric Company were charred by the fire.
The cause of the brush fire was undetermined.
