A beachside memorial service for Lex Brodie will be held Saturday, Feb. 2 at 9 a.m. on Waikiki Beach near the Duke Kahanamoku statue. The public is welcome.
There will be an invocation in Hawaiian on the beach, followed by a scattering of flowers in the ocean near Brodie's favorite surf spot.
A canoe will carry family members. Surfers are welcome to paddle out. The public is invited to attend and is asked to respect the prayer sessions and memory of Mr. Alexander Brodie.
Brodie was a local businessman, former Board of Education member and television icon. He was known for the commercials for his tire business ending with the trademark, "Thank you, very much!" He was 98.
