HONOLULU -

Residents living on 430 Haleloa Place got a scare Saturday morning after a boulder crashed into a car port and damaged two vehicles.

According to Honolulu Fire, the boulder was the size of a Volkswagen Beetle.  It damaged a Honda van, a Toyota sedan, and support beams of a car port.

HFD said the boulder cracked in half after hitting the two parked vehicles.  Estimated cost in damage is $30,000.

There were no reports of injuries; however, Red Cross is offering services to anyone who feels unsafe at the affected apartment complex.

The city's Department of Emergency Management Office has been notified.  But the apartment's association believes the boulder may have fallen off from its property.
