With the general election just days away time's running out for politicians hoping to win your votes. Both U.S. Senate candidates tried to persuade voters face to face Saturday.
Mazie Hirono and Linda Lingle took a trolley ride to gain last minute supporters.
With three more days until election day it's a race to the end with Mazie Hirono and Linda Lingle for the U.S. senate seat. Voters said they feel the energy.
"I think people are looking for momentum to build and I'm sure both sides are working towards that," said voter James Toyama.
Candidates spoke to fans on separate trollies, shook hands, and made speeches. It is one of the last personal interactions with voters.
U.S. senate candidate, Linda Lingle said, "It's also a chance to meet people who area maybe still undecided, but if they meet you in person maybe that will move them over to your side."
And that's what they are looking for from this ride, one more vote for them in the polling booths.
"Today is really sort of everybody coming together for the last three days there's no let up," said U.S. senate candidate Mazie Hirono.
Both candidates said they feel confident that they will roll into victory on Tuesday. "We feel really good going into Tuesday. We think the momentum is on our side we've been working really hard.
The other side is kind of bogged down now so we feel this is a very important time for us to make that final push," said Lingle.
Hirono said, "I never take anything for granted until the very last moment we will be knocking on doors and making phone calls. i can tell you that."
Trolley rides continue tomorrow. Hirono's ride will start at noon at Mililani Whistle Stop and Picnic tomorrow, and Lingle's team will start at 1:30 p.m. at Whole Foods in Kailua. They will make several stops.
