Black Friday shopping madness begins at Toys 'R' Us
No matter what they were hoping to buy the night before Black Friday, they all stood in a long line which wrapped around the Pearlridge Toys "R" Us parking lot.
KITV4 Reporter Cam Tran asked, "How long were you waiting in line?" Haunani Lee-Vincent responded,"12-o'clock. Midnight."
When the doors finally opened at 8 p.m., the shopping carts came rolling in. After waiting in line for hours, anxious shoppers roamed the store on a mission.
In just a matter of minutes, the aisles were filled with customers making a mad dash for their target toys.
"This is a workout. This is 24 Hour Fitness. This is a different form of exercise," said shopper Duffy Gibson. Tran responded, "This is a workout chasing you down the aisle." Gibson said, "This is like a total gym!"
Despite the rush, shoppers were orderly with most here looking to fill Christmas lists and to score a good deal.
"Mostly for toys, but the diapers on sale. Ten dollars. And wipes $10.," said Layne Viernes. "I was about the fifth in line. I am happy with my results."
Toys "R" Us will be open until 11 p.m. Friday.
