Big Island police open murder investigation of Puna man

Detectives say Gilman missing; have not found a body

Big Island police have opened a homicide investigation in connection with the disappearance of a 44-year-old Hawaiian Acres man.

Dante Peter Gilman was reported missing on January 10 and a missing person investigation was initiated.

Detectives continued the investigation.  As a result, they developed information leading to the initiation of the criminal case.  They continue to search for the whereabouts of Gilman’s body.
