Big Island police is advising the public to avoid Highway 130 and Leilani Avenue in Pahoa for the next several hours, as of 5:15 p.m., due to a traffic closure Thursday evening.
Traffic is being rerouted to the Leilani Avenue and Pohoiki Road intersection.
A witness says a man died when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a Lexus at the entrance to the Leilani Estates subdivision.
The witness says the motorcyclist died at the scene.
