Big Island officials say there was a water rescue off Keokea Point Sunday morning around 10:30 a.m.

Police say a 34-year-old man and his 9-year-old son were swimming in a tide pool at Baker's Beach when they were washed away.

Rescuers found his father floating face down in the water nearby.  He was taken to Hilo Medical Center in critical condition.
