Big Island Police launch murder investigation
Body found Saturday night with apparent gunshot wounds

On Saturday at about 8:47 p.m., police responded to a number of calls of possible gunshots heard in Mooheau Park in Hilo.
Police found an unresponsive man with apparent gunshot wounds to the back. According to initial reports, he was shot four to five times in the back.
Police have positively identified the victim as 32-year-old Faafetai Fiu of Hilo. The suspect remains at large.
Bayfront Highway is closed to traffic from Pauahi Street to Waianuenue Avenue while police investigates the case, classified as a second-degree murder.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday to determine Fiu's exact cause of death.
