Honolulu police say a stabbing on Kaonohi Street in Aiea sent a 58-year-old man to the hospital in serious condition early Tuesday.

The 54-year-old woman, who is the man's wife, has been arrested by police, according to investigators.

The incident happened at the Harbor Pointe complex at around 3 a.m.

The man had multiple stab wounds to the neck, back, hands and face, according to paramedics.

The woman was arrested on a attempted murder charge.  She was treated at the Pali Momi Medical Center for minor injuries.

Police say a kitchen knife was believed to have been used during the dispute and was recovered by officers.

After the man was stabbed, investigators say he sought the help of a security guard.
