Local Filmaker Debuts Awakening World
Dole Cannery was buzzing Saturday night with the Hawaii International Film Festival in full swing and a local filmmaker preparing to see seven years of hard work revealed to the masses.
"I'm curious to see how Sebastian put it all together," said actor Richard Chamberlain, who took part in the project.
"For me this is special to premiere my film here in Hawaii," said Sebastian Siegel. The filmmaker, producer and actor has strong roots and a deep connection to the islands.
'Awakening World' is the first installment of his documentary project called "Love, Sex, God."
"The films really about compassion and bringing people together and the methodology of how we do that is really through aloha," he told KITV reporter Lara Yamada.
"I'm very excited to be here at the premiere. I hope it's a huge success and seen all over the world," said Chamberlain.
"What is the purpose of life?" Siegel asks of his audience in his documentary.
In the crowd are his family, friends, and an adoring audience; each one, enlightened and inspired by a bit of cinema bursting with heart.
"It feels good and especially sweet to bring it to Hawaii which has had a big impact to me," he said.
Siegel plans to release the second part of "Love, Sex, God" sometime next year.
