A man accused of running a Waimanalo puppy mill pleaded no contest on Tuesday.

David Lee Becker was charged with 153 counts of animal cruelty after that same number of dogs were found in unsanitary conditions in March 2011.

Becker faces a maximum sentence of one year in ail and a $2,000 fine for each of the 153 counts.

Becker is set to be sentenced later this month.
