A 23-year-old man accused of murder in the shooting death of a Makaha man appeared in court Monday.

Police said Chad Duran shot and killed 26-year-old Christopher Medeiros.  The shooting happened last Wednesday night and Medeiros died on Thursday.

In addition to the murder charge, Duran was also charged with a firearms violation.

Medeiros' family said that Duran and Medeiros had been friends for years.

Duran's bail is set at $750,000.
