The City's Department of Environmental Services advise residents to stay out of Kalihi Stream, after over nine thousand gallons of untreated waste water spilled into the stream since Saturday morning.
Officials said roots clogged a 12-inch pipe, which caused raw sewage to overflow from a manhole and into the stream located makai of Alu Street in Kalihi.
Crews spent most of Saturday disinfecting the area and cleaning out the pipes when it happened a second time, releasing another 15 hundred gallons.
Warning signs have been posted and water sampling is underway.
