The National Weather Service said a 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck the coast of Central Chile Monday.
Experts said no destructive widespread tsunami threat exists based on historical earthquake and tsunami data.
The earthquake happened at 5:50 p.m. Hawaii time.
As of 6:25 p.m., no word yet on damage or injuries in Chile.
