Kailua girl. Today her family mourns her passing. Good evening, I'm Pamela Young. 32 days after visiting a dentist, Finley Boyle, died last night, never recovering consciousness. KITV4's Nana Ohkawa has our top story. Pamela, Finley past away just before 9 o'clock last night-- surrounded by her parents and family members. One month after Finley Boyle visited the dentist.. she died at Hawaii Hospice.. 3152 TO SEE HER GROW FROM A HAPPY HEALTHY THREE YEAR OLD TO GOING THROUGH PUBERTY IN A DIAPER 15 YEARS LATER IS NOT A CHOICE I WAS GOING TO MAKE 3205 120 SHE WAS IN A PERSISTENT VEGETATIVE STATE THEY FELT THAT THIS IS WHAT SHE WOULD WANT AS DIFFICULT AS IT WAS THEY FELT THAT WAS THE RIGHT CHOICE 135 The families lawyer, Richard Fried, said Dr. Lilly Geyer with Island Dentistry for Children made many wrong choices... When Finley went in for a dentist appointment.. she left ...with permanent brain damage .... 204 IT'S VERY SAD IT'S THEIR ONLY CHILD IT'S TOTALLY UNNECESSARY THIS WAS A PERFECTLY NORMAL HEALTHY MAYBE UNUSUALLY BRIGHT FULL OF LIFE CHILD 219 He says Finley was getting 10 different procedures... four which were a type of . And says she was given three sedative drugs in very excessive doses...and adding to the problem ..she wasn't monitored through the procedure. 1059 CLEARLY ONCE WE GOT THE SECOND MRI BACK IT WAS DEVASTATING EVERYTHING BUT THE BRAIN STEM WHICH THE BRAIN STEM TELL YOU TO BREATHE AND GIVES YOU A BRAIN PRESSURE THAT WAS THE LAST BIT THAT DIDN'T GET A LACK OF OXYGEN 1120 Lawyers say someone from the office had to run down the hall to get a pediatrician to revive her... By then it was too late. A wrongful death lawsuit was filed by the family. We tried to contact Dr. Geyer's attorney for comment, but wasn't able to reach him. Island Dentistry for Children remains closed.
