A 28-year-old Ewa man died overnight when he crashed his motorcycle in the townbound lanes of the Pali Highway around 11 p.m. Monday.

Police believe the motorcyclist was speeding when he hit the median, and went into oncoming traffic.

A S.U.V. traveling in the Kaneohe bound lanes was unable to stop, and hit the rider.

Honolulu police traffic investigators shut down all lanes of the Pali Highway to investigate the crash.  The highway reopened around 3 a.m.
