Christopher Deedy murder trial.. Good evening, I'm Kenny Choi. And I'm Yunji de Nies.. Tonight -- for the first time -- we hear detailed information from witnesses about what happened the night 23-year-old Kollin Elderts was killed. KITV4's Brenton Awa has our top story. On the stand -- two witnesses who were within feet of the fight that led to Kolin Elderts being shot dead inside a Waikiki McDonalds. 533 - 537 "I HEARD HIM YELL IF YOU'RE GOING TO SHOOT ME THEN EXPLICIT SHOOT ME." Taylor Auyoung re-calls the words that caught her attention that night. She was sitting with friends in the restaurant when she saw part of the confrontation. Au-young says Christopher Deedy's eyes were glassy and he looked off balance. She didn't know who started the fight but heard a "pop pop" sound then ran out the door. 20:44 - 2053 "IN ADDITION YOU TOLD THEM THAT SPECIAL AGENT DEEDY DID NOT WANT TO FIGHT BACK... YES." The defense tried to debunk Auyoungs statement of Deedy appearing drunk by pointing out the distance that separated the two. Around 20 feet -- with other bystanders blocking her view. The defense also noted that Auyoung never mentioned Deedy appearing to look drunk in the past. The second witness to take the stand was Alexander Byrd -- a former marine from new jersey. After a night out -- he ended up right in the middle of Deedy and Elderts argument ... 27:10 - 27:17 "HE COULDNT KEEP HIS EYES OPEN, HE SEEMED LIKE JUST IN AND OUT OF, JUST TRYING TO STAY AWAKE REALLY, HE SEEMED PRETTY DRUNK." Byrd says he was trying to break up what started as a verbal argument. He noticed Deedy wasn't making sense -- slurring his words -- and told Elderts to just ignore him. 2627 - 2636 "IT WAS JUST MORE OF .... JUST UH TALKING TRASH - I DONT REALLY KNOW HOW ELSE TO SAY THAT." But Byrd says Elderts eventually had enough of being stared down and spoken to by Deedy. He says Elderts finally got up and reacted. 2554 - 2559 "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT? DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM?" That's when time ran out in court today. Witness testimony will resume tomorrow with Alexander Byrd taking the stand again.
