2 Honolulu KFC stores to close by this Sunday
Kapiolani location closing Wednesday; Dillingham store to close Sunday
Two KFC restaurants in Honolulu will be closing by the end of June.
Its Kapiolani Boulevard store is set to close on Wednesday. The Dillingham Boulevard restaurant will close on Sunday.
Kazi Foods operates 45 KFC Hawaii restaurants. Kazi Foods says both stores successfully fulfilled their lease agreements but were not renewed.
The Kapiolani property, on the corner of Keeaumoku Street, was purchased by Walgreens and will be developed into a new Walgreens store. The Dillingham location lacked adequate access for drive-thru customers.
No jobs will be lost as a result of the closures. All full-time and part-time employees were given the option to relocate to other Kazi restaurants.
Kapiolani customers can visit the nearest KFC at the corner of McCully Street and Beretania Street. Dillingham customers can go to the KFC at North King Street and Kalihi Street.
The Kapiolani store originally opened its doors in the mid-1970s. The Dillingham location has been there since 1993.
