Maui County fire crews were busy on Wednesday helping hikers on Maui.
At around 7 p.m., Wailuku rescue crews responded to Iao Valley State Park after a woman visiting from New York got separated from the group she was hiking with.
After a 45-minute search in the dark, crews found the woman and brought her out to safety. She was not injured.
At around 2 p.m., firefighters from Wailuku joined with firefighters in Kahului to rescue an injured hiker stranded in Waihee.
The 65-year-old man visiting from Missouri hurt his knee while hiking Waihee Ridge.
He was lifted out of the ridge by helicopter, then taken to the hospital by a group of friends.
