Two 11-year-old girls were hospitalized in serious condition Wednesday afternoon after they were apparently hit by a vehicle, according to Emergency Medical Services officials.

It happened just after 2 p.m. near Washington Middle School at the intersection of South King Street and Punahou Street.

EMS officials say two students were crossing South King Street when they were apparently hit.

Police blocked three lanes on South King Street at the time of the collision.
