It's the second overnight stabbing in a row on Oahu and a man has died following a stabbing in Kailua.
It happened just after 11:40 p.m. Monday on Uluniu Street.
Emergency Medical Services officials say a man in his 50s was stabbed. He was later pronounced dead at the Castle Medical Center.
Police say a couple of witnesses were passing by 333 Uluniu Street and heard a commotion. At that time, they noticed a man running away from the scene and going up Uluniu Street heading toward Kaneohe up an alley.
The victim was stabbing several times in the torso, according to EMS.
Police are asking for the public's help to find the suspect. Investigators say the man is in his 20s, fair-skinned, 5-feet-2-inches-tall to 5-feet-4-inches-tall, about 140 to 160 pounds with a thin build. He was wearing a black cap, a long-sleeved dark shirt, dark pants and possible work boots.
"We're asking the public if they're seen this male in the area or if they saw the incident that they could give us a call. Please call police," said Capt. Richard Schaab of the Honolulu Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division. "At this point, it looks like the victim is possibly homeless."
