Honolulu police say a 53-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman were arrested Sunday in Kapolei after an alleged road rage incident.
A 42-year-old woman was driving on the freeway and her 20-year-old son was sitting in the passenger seat at around 12:20 a.m., according to investigators. The suspects were also in a vehicle on the freeway.
When both vehicles came to a stop at an intersection, the 53-year-old man got out of his vehicle, opened the passenger side door and punched the 20-year-old man in the face.
The woman, 56, also got out of her vehicle and opened the driver's side door and swung at the driver. The 42-year-old woman was able to avoid being struck. The 56-year-old woman then tried to pull the driver out of her seat.
Police were called and the suspects were arrested without incident.
The 53-year-old man was charged second-degree assault and unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle. The 56-year-old woman was charged with unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle.
