17-year-old boy found dead at Sandy's was extremely drunk
Medical Examiner releases autopsy, victim had blood alcohol content at .221
The medical examiner says a 17-year-old boy who was found dead on the highway near Sandy Beach in April was extremely drunk.
The body of Boyd-Shiro Maycry was found laying on Kalanianaole Highway by a patrol officer.
The case was initially thought to be a hit-and-run but an autopsy found that the boy's injuries were not consistent with a car collision.
Police believe Maycry may have been a passenger in a vehicle and possibly fell out of the car.
The medical examiner said today that Maycry died of head injuries due to blunt force trauma.
The autopsy also showed that his blood alcohol content was .221, almost three times the legal limit for drivers.
