Hawaiian Humane Society leading probe for cat shooter
The Hawaiian Humane Society is offering a $2,000 reward for tips leading to an arrest and conviction of the person responsible for shooting cats with a BB gun at the Hawaii Kai Part & Ride.
You can call 356-2249 with tips.
The suspect is a local man, possibly in his 50s, about 5-feet-7-inches tall, 160 pounds wearing a tank top. He had a large black dog with him.
The Hawaiian Humane Society is reminding residents that poisoning, tormenting, torturing or killing cats is a felony.
The society also urges all cat owners to take the following precautions to protect your cats:
- Keep your cats indoors. If you let your cats outdoors, supervise them closely and always make sure they wear identification.
- All outdoor cats must have a micro chip or collar with identification and be sterilized.
- Abandonment or relocating cats that are not your own is a crime and can result in suffering.
