100-thousand dollar grant to build a dog daycare business in Kaneohe that will also serve as a program to teach "at-risk youths" job skills. According to our partners at Pacific Business News- the grant came from the Hauoli Mau Loa Foundation. The "paws for Cause" program needs facility renovations, dog playground equipment and other supplies. The 12-week program helps at-risk kids develop job skills through inventory management- photography- web design and book- keeping...as well as safe interaction with animals. The facility is expected to service up to 35-dogs at a time.
