Honolulu police closed the eastbound lanes of the H-1 Freeway Wednesday afternoon for an investigation and caused a major traffic backup.
The lanes were closed for more than an hour from the Vineyard Boulevard off-ramp to the Pali Highway off-ramp.
Reports say someone may have jumped or fallen from an overpass.
The freeway reopened at around 5:15 p.m.
But, those on Twitter were very vocal about the traffic mess.
Michael Abagon (@Tinabong) wrote on Twitter, "H1EB closure. Gridlock all forced exit at Vineyard. Stay away.!!! Or turn around."
Michael Shimada (@bitachu) said posted an Instagram photo on Twitter and said,"Traffic backin up o kam hwy by pali and hpu."
