A 51-year-old Lihue woman was charged with second-degree theft and arraigned on Kauai, according to Attorney General David Louie.
Roselani Wise was a former Department of Human Services investigator on Kauai. She was charged with theft for receiving unearned compensation from the state from 2008 through 2012.
An investigation revealed that during the hours for which she was being paid by DHS to conduct criminal fraud investigations, she was employed by the federal Transportation Security Administration at Lihue Airport.
Wise allegedly received more than $10,000 for work she did not perform.
In a Dec. 6, 2012 edition of The Garden Island, Wise was honored by the TSA as its Innovation Officer of the Year in the TSO Recognition category.
