Family speaks about shark scare!
A family has quite a fish tale to tell when the fish they were expecting to have for dinner ended up in a shark’s mouth.
Sarah Blume of North Carolina was reeling in her first fish when the shark suddenly jumped out of water and snatched it from her.
The family was hoping to catch some fish for dinner in North Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. When Blume felt a sudden pull from her fishing rod, a family member grabbed a camera to capture her first catch and another tried helping her drag the fish up.
While she was reeling and another man tried to trap the fish with the net, a five-foot bullhead shark appeared from nowhere and seized the fish from the line. Everyone’s jaws dropped and Blume screamed in shock.
“I’m actually kinda scared when I see it jump. I was like ‘Oh, my gosh! It could jump up here and get me’, because the tide is all the way up and it was probably three feet below me,” Blume said in an interview.
Despite the shark scare, the family said they would still cast their fishing rods in the inlet, but vowed never to swim there again.
Since their shark video went viral on the Web, it has already racked up more than 4.3 million views on YouTube.
