KITV4 would like to introduce you to our in-house expert on "The Bachelorette," Lauren Wang. During the day, she works in our sales department, but on the nights when "The Bachelorette" is airing, she is glued to the television set. She will keep you up-to-date with the show and give you some inside scoops on what is happening with the Bachelorette herself, Emily Maynard.
Week 6 Recap - 6/19/2012
WOW! Croatia was intense!
Emily sent two guys packing after their one-on-one dates and she even decided that she didn’t want to send anyone home at the rose ceremony (now that’s a first)!
Emily’s date with Travis didn’t really go as well as either of them wanted it to. I was hoping that there would be a romantic spark too just because he seemed like an all-around nice guy. Unfortunately, it wasn’t there. Emily broke Travis’ heart by sending him packing, but she truly didn’t feel any romantic chemistry between them. It’s the worst to want something so badly and not get it (awww Travis). I hope that he does find someone because from his breakdown, you could tell the poor guy’s just looking for love.
Let the games begin! Jef, Arie, Sean, Doug, Chris and John competed for the bravery "trophy" in none other than kilts (hahaha they looked hot, please not the sarcasm)!
Sean was definitely the strongest and most athletic of the bunch and, oh my, Chris was just plain BAD. Sorry Chris, I like you, but yikes! You’re not very athletic are you? Emily found it cute that he wasn’t as athletic as the other guys, but for me I didn’t find that attractive. She even gave Chris the group date rose (it was a total pity rose -- I’m joking). But, he did drop the "L" word to her and I think he really meant it. So it was sort of a no brainer that she would give him the rose.
Cocky Ryan had his second one-on-one date with Emily. All of the guys are clearly not big fans of his. I loved seeing how they were making fun of him and talking behind his back! He totally deserved it though. I mean some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth. You’re like, is this guy for real?
But, on the flip side, Ryan is a charmer in his own way. So, I know that’s why Emily was having a hard time deciding if she wanted to keep him around for another week or not. In the end, Emily decided to send him home. I’m pretty sure she decided it after he called her a trophy wife for like the hundredth time and when he brought out his "list." I was like GAME OVER! (What’s up with this guy and writing? First his 20 page letter now this)
Guys, I hope you’re taking notes -- NEVER write us a list of 12 things that you want in a relationship and have one of the bullet points be that you want a servant. Sorry Ryan, better luck next time!
Arie snuck away to have some alone time with Emily later that night. He wanted to make sure that she was OK after she sent Ryan home and he also wanted to let her know that he always has her back. Their relationship is very physical and I think she does have strong feelings for him. I mean, how could you not?
And Arie admitted that he is falling in love with her. It was so so cute to see him strutting back to his hotel after sneaking off to see her. The guy was on cloud nine! She even secretly gave him the rose (that was a little unfair, but all is fair in love and war). I think she just appreciated that he went out of his way to let her know that he was thinking of her and that he is always going to be there for her.
Emily asked Chris Harrison for another rose in last night’s rose ceremony. She just couldn’t decide if she wanted to send John or Doug home. She had a good heart-to-heart with John. He really opened up to Emily and even talked about his grandparents and the love that they shared. Emily really took that to heart and I think she really wanted more time with John.
Now I don’t like Doug, I’ve made that clear. It seems to me that he is hiding something and he is always very awkward around her. He couldn’t even put his arm around her (come on, seriously)! I think that Emily wants to see all of these great things in him but I don’t think she thinks it’s genuine. Also, he’s not aggressive enough and a lot of times I look at her and she just seems BORED! I think Doug is definitely more on the fence than John!
The remaining six guys and Emily are packing their bags and going to PRAGUE! We will finally get to see how everything unfolds once Emily finds out that Arie has hooked up with a producer AND we will get to see who Emily chooses as her final four men.
Make sure to check back here later this week for some inside scoops on the remaining bachelors and rejected ones. Also, don’t forget to tune in next Monday for a brand new episode of The Bachelorette at 7 p.m. on KITV4! Talk to me at #bachelorettehi on Twitter!
Arie interview and Week 6 Preview - 6/18/2012
I got to talk to Arie last Friday morning. I seriously, like, bolted right out of bed! I had no problems waking up at 5:30 in the morning to talk to him!
I did have major word vomit thought -- my questions and thoughts just poured out! (He thinks I’m a stalker now, great.)
I am a HUGE fan of his and I hope that Emily and him don’t work out. (Wait, did I just write that? That’s mean, but I do hope that they are both happy!)
So rumor on the street is that Arie did hook up with a producer from the show. So what did Arie have to say about this? Well, not much, he didn’t go into much detail about this subject, but did say it will all unfold in the next couple of weeks. (Interesting. I wonder how Emily will respond to this.)
Initially, Arie was asked about another race car driver and whether or not he would be good to be on "The Bachelorette." Arie said that he didn’t think that the guy was ready and jokingly said, "Well, what about me?" And that’s how he got on the show.
He didn’t know a lot about Emily going into "The Bachelorette." All he saw was her picture from Google, so he went into this with no expectations and that’s why this was such an amazing experience for him.
Arie said he was nervous to tell Emily that he was a race car driver but he wanted to know right off the bat if that would help connect them, or if it was something that she couldn’t deal with.
Arie was asked repeatedly about the "baggage" comment made by Kalon and his thoughts on the issue. He first heard about it right before Doug told Emily. Arie said that he didn’t feel at that point it was his place to say anything to Emily. He felt that Emily handled herself very well and she said and did all the right things. Emily even gave Kalon a chance to apologize but he never did. (All the guys in the house were shocked!) He was so impressed by her “mama bear” instincts!
Arie is portrayed as a funny, goofball kind of a guy and that’s how he really is. He was friends with all of the other bachelors, and even though there were some tense moments (like the one between him and Doug), overall, he got along with everyone and surprisingly, Jef!
He said that being on the show wasn’t about the competition. It was about seeing if you have a connection with this person (aw, yep, I’m in love). Arie said he didn’t dwell on the drama in the house because he had a limited amount of time with Emily so he wanted to concentrate on his relationship with her. His feelings for Emily now are as strong as they were when they were taping. (He even said my “fiance" when asked about if he would be the next bachelor. Interesting, is he trying to say something or just stir the rumor mill?)
He feels that he and Emily truly do have a strong connection and that his fondest memory so far on the show was his first date with her in Dollywood. Arie said, with the editing, the episode didn’t show how he and Emily were just laughing in the limo. He said they could have drove around all day and that would have been just fine with him. It didn’t matter where they were -- the connection between them was the most important thing.
Arie said Croatia is a turning point for him. And that bring us to our Week 6 preview. Emily will have two one-on-one dates in tonight's episode and, of course, a group date.
Emily decides to have a one-on-one date with Travis (yep, the egg guy). Supposedly Travis opens up about his past, including his broken engagement. I’m interested to hear about this. Will this affect Emily’s view on Travis? What happened? Will they have a connection?
For the group date they go to a historic theater. Yikes! Didn’t Emily learn from last week that her remaining bachelors aren’t actors! Let’s hope that this week there is no Shakespeare involved. It looks like Emily likes to see her men’s playful sides!
The lucky guy to get the next one-on-one date is Ryan. I think Emily really does have mixed feelings on him. I know the guys don’t like him and Arie even hinted that we will start to see Ryan's "true" colors this episode. Will Emily fall for his charming player-like personality? Will she give him the rose despite how the other men feel about him?
And later that night, Arie said he "breaks the rules" to tell Emily his true feelings. Hmmm... I wonder how the guys are going to feel about this?!?!
Make sure to watch next Monday to find out, right here on KITV4 at 7p.m. Don’t forget to talk to me throughout the show on Twitter at #bachelorettehi!
